Urvija is the first certified palm oil-free skincare brand in India. The ingredients we use are as harmless to your skin as they are to the world, we live in. It doesn’t end there. Our ingredients are exclusively procured from locally grown non-timber forest products, e.g. Kusum, Mahua, and Karanj seeds and oil distilled from them.

Almost 80% of orangutan habitat has disappeared in the last 20 years. We are losing over 6,000 orang-utans a year. There are now only 400 Sumatran tigers left in the world (source of information: https://www.orangutan.org.au). Palm cultivation is not only creating major deforestation havoc but also leaving these exotic species on the verge of extinction. The palm oil industry also violates of human rights regulations with forced child labor.
Palm oil is pervasively used in personal care and cleaning products, and it provides the foaming agent in nearly every soap, shampoo, or detergent. Around 70% of personal care products including soap, shampoo, makeup, and lotion, contain ingredients derived from palm oil.

Our commitment to use palm oil-free ingredients led us to The Orangutan Project, Australia a part of the Lief Cock Foundation. After a rigorous audit , the Alliance has accredited our products as palm oil-free. Our agenda includes regular support to The Orangutan Project in the adoption programme of rescued/orphaned Orangutans. Each year towards our commitment to save these critically endangered species, we partake in programmes that includes rescuing, rehabilitation through adoption, and finally releasing the rescued orangutans into the wilds. Hi, I am Sam.
I was rescued from a Malaysian zoo and sent to Bukit Tigapuluh (BTP) rehabilitation and release program in Jambi. Then on 15th June 2015, I gave birth to Cupcake, my loving son.
We were both in search of a guardian.
